Scott McCann grew up in Carencro, Louisiana, and now resides in Arlington, Virginia. He has a B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University and an M.A. in International Studies with concentrations in international security, intelligence, and conflict resolution from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Scott is a Junior Foreign Policy Fellow with the Center for the National Interest through the Koch Associate Program with the Charles Koch Institute. He is also a 2021 Marcellus Policy Fellow with the John Quincy Adams Society. Scott’s research with JQAS focused on US-Iran reconciliation through the national security interest lens. He has contributed to multiple outlets on topics covering MENA, East Africa, and Eurasia. Scott is currently studying Arabic and wants to work in the Persian Gulf. He hopes to use his experiences to produce meaningful, actionable foreign policy that promotes rigorous diplomacy and reduced militarism.
