For durable peace in Yemen, inclusion must mean more than simply a voice for civil actors
Dr. Marie-Christine Heinze is co-founder and President of Germany’s Middle East think tank CARPO – Center for Applied Research in Partnership with the Orient. She has more than ten years of experience in research and policy-related work on Yemen, focusing on social and political change, gender, security sector reform, peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction, amongst others. Through her work at CARPO, Marie has designed and implemented track 2 and academic exchange formats on Yemen and has engaged in collaborative research with Yemeni and international stakeholders on above topics. Marie is editor of ‘Yemen and the Search for Stability. Power, Politics and Society after the Arab Spring’ (IB Tauris 2018).
