Loosineh Markarian

Loosineh Markarian is a Civil-Military Relations expert and an independent consultant based in Yerevan, Armenia. She is currently working on security sector reform projects implemented jointly by the Center for Innovations in Open Governance and Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance. She holds a Ph.D. from Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver. Her research focuses on the intersection of political economy and civil-military relations, and it examines the impact of economic liberalization and privatization policies on military control of economically-active militaries in autocratic regimes.
