John Walsh is Director for Drug Policy and the Andes at WOLA. His research and advocacy have underscored the limits of supply-oriented policies and the extensive damage caused by the drug war and the prohibitionist global drug control regime. Prior to joining WOLA, Walsh served as director of research at Drug Strategies, and worked on the Center of Concern’s Rethinking Bretton Woods Project, an effort to forge consensus on ideas for reforming the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and international trade arrangements. He received a B.A. in Theology from Georgetown University (1986) and an M.A. in Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University (1997).
