After 50 years, this DoD watchdog still has plenty of bite
For decades the Center for Defense Information was filled with former top military brass providing checks and shaping policies.
Jeffrey W. Mason is a published author who worked as a researcher and senior analyst for the Center for Defense Information. He has also served in the Defense Department, Dr. Robert Musil’s Professionals’ Coalition for Nuclear Arms Control, the Congressional Research Service, the State Department’s Office of International Information Programs, and served as a volunteer contributor to the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. He also taught history and political science part-time for 30 years as an adjunct college instructor at several educational institutions in the Washington, D.C. area. His book True Security: 50 Years of Watchdogging the Pentagon, will be published later this year.
