Joanne Lin and Hamid Usman

Joanne Lin directs Amnesty International’s Advocacy and Government Affairs Department. She has 15 years of experience advocating for human rights —international and domestic — before Congress and the federal government. Previously, Lin  worked at the American Civil Liberties Union for over a decade, leading their federal immigration policy advocacy program.


Usman Hamid is the Executive Director of Amnesty International Indonesia. Previously, he served as an adviser to the International Center for Transitional Justice, Jakarta office, from 2010 until 2012. In 2011 he was appointed to the Presidential Working Unit for the Supervision and Management of Development, where he reviewed the policy on Indonesia’s Human Rights Nation Plan of Action.
